As a Christian, I often encounter situations where my beliefs conflict with the views of the world around me. This can be a real challenge, and I find myself wrestling with these differences quite frequently. My deep-seated desire is never intentionally to hurt anyone, as I value empathy and kindness. However, I recognize that the principles and values I hold are not always accepted or understood by those outside my faith.
There are moments when I have to confront the uncomfortable reality that sharing my beliefs may not align with what others want to hear, which can lead to disconnection or misunderstandings. Balancing my faith with the varied perspectives of the world is an ongoing journey that requires both courage and compassion.
I was raised in The Assemblies of God, a denomination that emphasizes the importance of the Holy Spirit and the teachings of the Bible. As a devoted Pentecostal believer, I hold a deep conviction that every word in the Bible carries a significant meaning and truth.
I believe that if God chose to inspire these devoted men of faith to write the Scriptures, then the messages conveyed within their pages are vital for understanding His will and purpose for our lives. This belief shapes my faith journey and guides my daily life.
If God promises that He is faithful and will never leave us or forsake us, then I wholeheartedly believe Him (Deuteronomy 31:6). I trust in His word and hold onto that assurance in my life. However, I want to clarify that this doesn’t mean I am without flaws or mistakes. In fact, I often find myself falling short of the ideals I strive for.
I make a conscious effort to align my actions and decisions with what I understand to be God’s teachings, yet I am imperfect and sometimes stumble along the way. These mistakes weigh on my heart and leave me with a sense of regret, but I continue to seek growth and understanding in my journey of faith.
Whenever I fall short of God’s will in my thoughts, actions, or decisions, I take a moment to sincerely ask for forgiveness. I also seek His guidance in helping me align my life more closely with His divine intentions. Each day, I strive to live with kindness and compassion, making a conscious effort to avoid intentionally causing harm to others. My greatest desire is for the people around me to see the love and light of God reflected in my heart and actions.
When the Holy Spirit gently points out a mistake I’ve made or a way I’ve misstepped, I take that prompting to heart. I reflect on my actions, understanding the impact, and do my utmost to make amends. This process of seeking forgiveness and striving for improvement is central to my spiritual journey, as I work to become a better version of myself and to embody God’s love in all that I do.
May God bless every one of you abundantly.
