Breaking the Chains of Depression and Oppression. (Part 2)

I want you to hear what I have to say today: we need to declare to the enemy that he picked the wrong person to fight with.

Because what the devil intended to bury you with, God is about to use it to build you.

This is a Battle, not just a bad day!

Some of you have been calling it stress.

Some of you are calling it exhaustion.

But deep down, you realize this is a Spiritual fight.

This is a battle for your peace, your joy, your calling, and for your mind.

The enemy doesn’t attack what is worthless; he attacks what is dangerous.

Depression will try to silence you, but you must speak back.

David did not sit in despair- he spoke to his soul. He said, “Why are you cast down, O my soul?”

As difficult as it might be, we must tell the enemy: “You will not control me.” You will not define me. You will not take me down without a fight.

You confront the enemy with unwavering determination, declaring, if it’s a fight you seek, then that’s exactly what you’re going to get. I’m ready to face whatever comes my way.

You do not negotiate with darkness; you confront it!

Because silence is when the enemy gets the loudest.

Oppression is pressure, but you are not meant to break.

The enemy will try to: suffocate your thoughts, drain your strength, distort your reality. He will whisper, “You are done; you will never get out of this.” He will tell you, God has left you.

You start thinking, if I just prayed enough, if I just believed enough. If I just read my Bible enough, then I wouldn’t be going through this. What a lie from the depths of hell.

Because God’s Word says, Greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world.

That means what is inside of you is more powerful than what is coming against you.

The struggle you are facing is a mental battle, and you need to take control of it. You must lift yourself up from your bootstraps, look deep within, and tell the enemy, “I will rise, and you won’t defeat me.”

The enemy doesn’t have to destroy your life physically; if he can get inside your head and your thoughts, he can influence how you think, what you believe, shape your choices, and the path your life takes.

The Bible says, “Take every thought captive.”

We must rise up and take God at His word. The battlefield is in the mind, and the enemy will try to plant seeds of fear, doubt, heaviness, and despair-but we have the authority to tear down every stronghold.

We need to bind every lying spirit. We cast down every whisper of defeat, every chain of depression and oppression that tries to take hold of our minds; we cast them down in the name of Jesus!

Every thought that tells you that you are not enough, take it captive. Every thought that says’ you will never break free, take it captive!

Every voice that tries to remind you of your past, pain, and your failures, you need to declare that it has no power over you. Because whoever the Son set free is free indeed.

Remember, you are not fighting FOR victory, you are fighting FROM victory. You don’t fight for something God has already given you.

The cross has already settled it, the blood has already covered it!

Some of you are carrying a heavy heart. Some of you are tired and weary. Some of you are smiling on the outside, but on the inside, your mind is a warzone. Some of you are carrying chains and shackles you believe will never come off.

I understand that no one fully understands what it is like to fight that battle in your mind, but God does. He knows how hard it is for you to get up out of bed each day. Your thoughts are pushing you to give up. He sees the silence behind your smile. He knows the enemy is trying to destroy you.

But I need you to hear this:

God is bigger and stronger than anything coming against you. Today, I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, “Enough is enough!”

You have cried long enough.

You are carrying burdens you were never meant to carry.

The enemy has told you, “This is who you are.” But the devil is a lier!

Depression is not your identity! We must find the strength to rise up from the ashes of despair.

I am telling you, those chains are not permanent! What the enemy tried to bind you with, God is about to break free from you. What has been whispering in your spirit will not have the last word.

The devil knows that once you see what is inside of you, hell won’t be able to stop you. He fears every praise you shout, every prayer you pray, and every step of faith you take.

Every praise and prayer serves as a reminder that he is powerless. Every step of faith you take brings you closer to freedom from the enemy’s grip.

There is power in your praise; there is deliverance in your worship. The very thing the enemy told you to stay silent about is the very thing God is calling you to shout about.

From a message I preached. Part 3 will follow soon.

  1. Well said my friend. Interesting similarity, the times when the Holy Spirit broke through my pain and struggle the words I heard as it broke were “Enough is enough !”
