I know there are times in our lives when it feels like the rafters of our house are shaking. The storms we face can come out of nowhere. One day, we might feel happy and content, and then, out of the blue, a storm hits and throws everything into chaos.
Where did the storm clouds suddenly materialize from? How did we fail to notice them creeping in over the horizon? Just moments ago, we were enjoying the warmth of the sun, the gentle breeze rustling through the leaves. Now, the tranquility has shattered as dark clouds gather, their heavy gray masses rumbling loudly. The once-clear sky has turned chaotic, and with each flash of lightning, our hearts race as the storm unleashes its fury, threatening the very home we carefully built with love.
We cry out to God in desperation, asking, “Why have you allowed this to happen?” We try to make sense of it all, but no answers seem to come. Meanwhile, Satan whispers in our ears, “How the mighty have fallen, and how your God has forsaken you.”
Oh, the sneaky lies of the serpent, Satan, who tries to make us believe that God has overlooked our struggles and that we are alone when we need the help the most. In times of doubt and fear, he tries to plant thoughts in our minds that make us feel lost and abandoned. But even during these tricky thoughts, we must remember that God is there, ready to provide His care and guidance when we seek it.
As the wind starts to pick up, we rise from the rubble left by the storm. We shout out to remind our enemy, Satan, that we will hold on, for our God will not forsake us; He will provide the miracle we need. This storm, which has brought despair and destruction, will not keep us down.
No matter what storms come into our lives, we must never forget who is walking with us. Regardless of the challenges we face, God has the perfect plan to guide us through them. These storms can strengthen us, and our faith grows as we surrender everything at the foot of the cross. That storm meant to break us will ultimately make us stronger.

We must stand on God’s promises, which we find in the Bible.
Deuteronomy 31:8, The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. (NIV)
Isaiah 41:13, For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” (ESV)
It’s important to remember that Satan is a deceiver who often tries to lead us astray with falsehoods and distractions. In contrast, God remains steadfast, providing us with unwavering support and strength during our most challenging trials and struggles.
No matter how difficult our circumstances may be, we can trust that God is always by our side, helping us navigate through the darkness and guiding us towards His light. The house we have built is not on sinking sand, but on solid rock.
