Defend Against Spiritual Warfare with the Armor of God

Satan can bring many challenges and struggles into our lives, but with faith and determination, we can overcome them. He often creates chaos and conflict during our quiet moments at home, when we feel the most relaxed. It is important to stay vigilant and guard ourselves, as these attacks often come when we least expect them. By standing strong and aware, we can face these difficulties. Recognizing these attacks is the first step to overcoming them.

Have you ever noticed that arguments and discord arise in your home out of the blue? It can feel like a dam has broken within your household. Our homes should be a place of peace and harmony, but the enemy often takes advantage of our families to create conflict. Our responsibility is to protect this spiritual space and proactively maintain the peace and harmony within our homes and lives.

Satan understands that if he can create chaos and discord in our homes and within our minds, we will be so overwhelmed by the turmoil that we won’t notice the true source of these conflicts. He skilfully diverts our attention from the fact that he orchestrates these brewing storms. By creating a tension-filled environment, he ensures we remain preoccupied with the fallout to recognize his role, leaving us isolated and confused. It’s not just crucial; our determination and resolute spirit will help us stay focused and not be misled by his tactics.

Satan knows that if he keeps attacking us, we will lose focus on spending time with God. He’s hoping we will forget that we have spiritual weapons, such as prayer, scripture, and faith. He understands the significance of spending time with God and in His word. He is hoping he can dismantle our defenses one by one. It is important to acknowledge the power of our spiritual weapons and to utilize them when the enemy strikes.

It is important to remember to have our armor intact. Ephesians 6:11-13 says, Put on the full armor of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand (NIV).

Every Christian should make sure they have the armor of God each day. We must put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, and the helmet of salvation (Ephesians 6:14-17). Equipping ourselves with the Armor of God significantly strengthens our defenses against spiritual attacks. This divine protection encompasses truth, righteousness, faith, and salvation, collectively creating a barrier that makes it more difficult for the enemy to breach our resolve and lead us astray. By putting on this spiritual armor, we stand firm against temptation and adversity and remain steadfast in our faith.

We must be prepared before the enemy attacks our home. By putting on our armor, reading our Bibles, praying, and worshiping God, we will be stronger when the enemy strikes. If we put our trust in God and the spiritual weapons He has given us, we will be prepared to face any adversity that Satan throws at us.
