Sometimes, we may feel that God has forsaken us when we find ourselves alone in the wilderness. This feeling is powerful when we’ve been walking this deserted road for what seems like an eternity. We’ve navigated countless twists and turns, and the end appears to be nowhere in sight. Our tears have been absorbed by the dry, parched earth that stretches endlessly before us. Our voices have grown hoarse from crying out into what feels like an empty void. Our bodies have become weary and battered as we face yet another day without a solution to our predicament.
Oh, how the enemy tempts and teases our thoughts. He comes and dances with his measly weapons, and we believe the lies he has entwined within our minds. The wind and the rain begin to howl as the enemy brings darkness to our world. Our thoughts become cloudy as we start to grow faint.
The weeds of lies and deception grow beyond our perception as the old snake slitters by us and whispers, “The mighty oak has fallen and will not be planted on solid ground.” With one last breath within our lungs, we cry, “Oh, God, please come and save us from the stronghold of this dry and weary land.
Just as we begin to think there is no hope, no answer, we hear the rustle of the wind blowing through the leaves of our minds. We see a glimpse of the moonlit sky when we hear our Heavenly Father saying, “Come, my child. Have I not promised you that I will never leave you or forsake you?” (Deuteronomy 31:8)
He reminds us that we are not alone when we do not feel His presence. He leans in close, his voice barely a murmur. “He will find us when we are lost in the wilderness,” he confides, His words weaving through the cobwebs that linger in the unforgotten corners of our minds. Each syllable seems to echo with the truth, reminding us of the shadows that lurk beyond the trees, waiting for the moment we wander too far from the familiar paths we know.
God reminds us that when the storms of life approach, the enemy will seek out any vulnerability in our lives. That old serpent tries to weaken our defenses, whispering, “Where is your God, who has allowed me to lead you to this dry, unforgiving land?” God gently reminds us that as we navigate the inevitable storms of life, the enemy is always on the lookout for any weaknesses in our defenses.
Satan seeks to exploit our vulnerabilities and sow seeds of despair. He slithers into our minds in our moments of struggle and suffering. These challenges can feel overwhelming, but they remind us to strengthen our faith and trust in God’s presence, even in the most challenging times.
As sunlight begins to break across the horizon, we feel hope and strength restored to our minds and bodies. We remember that the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10) as we pick up our weapons and replenish our souls with prayer and hope.
We cry out in our mighty warrior voice to the enemy. No weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). If my God is for me, who can be against me? (Romans 8:31)
We remind the enemy that the seed does not fall far from the tree. What God has started in us, He will complete to fruition. This promise fills us with hope, knowing our journey is not in vain.
As the enemy comes to attack us once again, we remind him of his downfall. As we yell out our battle cry, Satan, you have already been defeated. Get behind me in the name of Jesus! We shout out praises as we watch the serpent slink back to his pit of abyss.
The darkness has vanished once again, and the sun is shining bright. Everything has been restored as we identify how the enemy has infiltrated our defenses. We remind ourselves to put on the armor of God as we repair the areas where we have permitted the enemy to enter. Let us don our crowns and embrace our true identity. We are the beloved sons and daughters of a KING!
