Today, we feel unable to muster the strength to get out of our beds, let alone take a deep breath. We know that unforeseen situations, such as a loss of a loved one, a health crisis, or financial struggles have zapped our strength, or maybe this battle has continued forever. We cannot see beyond the horizon, let alone the moment. We have begun to wonder where God is in this situation and why does He not hear our pleas for help. We face another day with no answers or solutions to our circumstances. We wonder how we will ever make it through this day as the sun approaches towards the morning. As we lay here in our beds, we can hear the enemy telling us to give up; there is no hope for our future. He penetrates our thoughts with doubt, fear, and unexplained situattions. Satan tries to remind us that, once again, God still has not answered our pleas. He loves to tell us how the mighty have fallen and that there is no reason to continue in this unrealistic life. We begin to cave into the thoughts that he has planted in our minds, although we know he is a liar. How we wish the shoe was on someone else’s foot. We want to snuggle under the covers and hide from the day as the dawn comes over the mountains. We try to hide from the daylight and wish the night would take over.
We know we can no longer hide as the sun begins to come through the cracks of our curtains. Daylight begins to fill our room as we start our day. As our feet touch the floor, our eyes fall onto our Bible on our bedside table. We pick it up and find the perfect verse to get us through another day. After all that, it seems God has heard our pleas for help and given us the strength to face the circumstances and the battles in our lives. Our burden has become lighter, for we know who carries them, and they have been lifted from our shoulders. Our load of life can become a stronghold and a struggle, but we lay it down and remember who holds tomorrow. Before we face our day, we decide to get on our knees and pray. We begin by thanking our heavenly Father for taking control of our circumstances. We lift our hands and praise and worship the one who carries us in His hand and knows us by name. We remind Satan that we do not know what today will hold, but our future is brighter than the sun covering the skies. We repeatedly remind the enemy how the mighty has fallen and what his future holds. Our bed of roses may not bloom today, but one day, they will blossom and be used for the glory of the Lord. In all this, our faith in God remains steadfast; He guides us through the darkest times. So, in your circumstances, I encourage you to turn to prayer and praise and to trust in the Lord’s faithfulness and love.
Remember, in the face of our circumstances, the transformative power of prayer and praise is not underestimated. They have the profound ability to penetrate even the most challenging situations, offering us not just a glimmer but a beacon of hope and reassurance.
